Blend or process walnuts in a food processor or blender until finely ground.
Add dates and blend until ingredients stick together. Add all the rest of the ingredients except chocolate chips (or raisins) and blend just until combined.
Stir in chocolate chips (or raisins).
Cut parchment or waxed paper to fit in and overlap the sides of a square container approximately the size of a bread loaf pan. Press dough into bottom and refrigerate until firm.
Take out brownies by lifting paper and cut into squares. Store in and airtight container.
*Sugar Free: Omit or reduce brown sugar and use approximately 10 drops of liquid stevia instead. Replace chocolate chips with raisins, dried cranberries or cherries.
