Method
- Prep Work: Soak and cook beans if you don't want to use canned. (See OTL tutorial) Chop cilantro. Grate monterey jack cheese. Slice avocado before serving.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place beans in a bowl and mash with a fork. Stir in all ingredients through the egg.
- Shape mixture into 6, 1/2" thick patties and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes, turning them once at 10 minutes very carefully.
- Place hamburger buns face down on another baking sheet and add them to oven for the last 3-4 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Top bun with pattie, salsa, avodado, and lettuce leaf.
